Learn Tapestry Weaving Online
From Anywhere in the World

Discover the joy of tapestry weaving with my step-by-step online classes, made for beginners and advanced weavers alike. My online tapestry classes are designed to make weaving accessible, creative, and fun. Whether you’re working on a pocket loom or building your own wooden frame loom (I’ll show you how in my Beginner’s Course), you’ll discover how to create beautiful, small-scale woven pieces from the comfort of your home.

My online classes are hosted on the Teachable platform, making them easy to access and enjoy at your own pace. Each lesson is delivered via YouTube, so your videos are yours to keep and revisit whenever you like. They also include subtitles, which can be translated into any language and are ideal for those who are hard of hearing.

Once you register, Teachable will send you an email with everything you need to get started. You can also access your classes anytime using the Teachable app on your smartphone or tablet.
I have two Teachable Schools - one for UK and Worldwide students and one for the EU.  See more below.

March 2026 - I have also launched a brand new YouTube channel for little tips and tricks to get you started on your journey - click here

I specialize in colour-blended landscapes and seascapes, warp play, and four-selvedge weaving—but that’s just the beginning. With three unique courses to choose from, there’s something for every level.

Equipment Needed

(links to equipment provided in my courses)

  • Mirrix Loom* (or similar) or Handmade Loom

  • Small tapestry needles and a 6" tapestry needle

  • Beater - can use a kitchen fork!

  • Warp for 8 ends per inch

  • Weft (yarn)

* Based in the US?  I have a 10% discount code just for you if you have been thinking about purchasing a Mirrix loom.  Enter LIZ10 at the checkout.  Valid until 1/6/26. T&C's apply (see next page)

More on looms:  Starting your tapestry journey does not need to be expensive.  I show you how to make a simple wooden frame loom in my Beginner's course.

Mirrix Looms - I started using Mirrix a few years ago.  Why?  Because I wanted to work at 8 warps per inch and few looms on the market do this.  They also have a threaded bolt on them which can be released or tightened during weaving to adjust the tension.

My family of Mirrix Looms:
Saffron loom (now discontinued but might find on second hand market)
5" Chloe
8" Chloe

12" Tall Guy with shasta combs and shedding device - great for fringeless weaving

28" McKinley Loom - great for rug weaving

They all have different uses and I love them all.  I would want you to select an 8 dent comb.

Wooden frame looms - I started my tapestry journey with big wooden frame looms but found they bent under tension and quickly became unreliable for creating my kind of tapestry art.  However when working on a smaller scale I discovered that using a stripped art canvas can be a wonderful loom to work on and I show you how.

More on yarn: In my Beginner's course you only need double knitting yarn.

If you choose to progress your journey we will switch to fine

tapestry yarns by Weavers Bazaar (which can be shipped globally, including the EU).

Online Schools

UK and Worldwide (non EU students)

This school is dedicated to UK students and all students who are NOT in the EU.  Click here
(I have a separate EU school - see below)

Europe

This school is dedicated to students in the EU only!  Why?  There are different tax legislations in Europe and so by law I need to add tax to all EU courses.  Click here
