Yin and Yang is my most complex art to date.  The amount of detail in this piece was a real challenge but an absolute joy to create.  
 
I wanted to create movement in this piece and so added lots of shapes in the water and used a gradient colour technique to make the water lighter in the middle.  I worked on several single warp strands on the fish tails.
 
It was designed and woven on my 12” Mirrix Loom using multiple pure wool and silk threads.   The silks are highlighted on both fish to give them that sheen.  
 
Size : The textile image is slightly bigger than my others at 6” x 6". The wall mounted white frame is 11” h x 11.5” w x 1.25” depth (or 28 cm x 30cm x 3 cm)
 
The tapestry has been carefully hand sewn and mounted onto cotton board. It is purposefully left without any glass over it.
 
Care - a gentle dust of the frame occasionally. Note: do not place tapestries in a kitchen or bathroom.
